My wife said that she thought that it was cute, and while I found it a bit strange at times, it was for the most part interesting reading. I did not find anything in it that I would identify as anti-Biblical. Some people are not into fantasy, and they would probably not like the book.
Suffice it to say that this book is clearly fantasy. The rest of the book concerns the various situation that the dragon causes for Jeremy and the lessons that he learns on how to deal with his problems by caring for the dragon. After the dragon hatched, it was invisible to everyone except Jeremy and the girl who liked him. There he saw a shining, multi-colored ball which he finally decided that he just must have.Īfter purchasing the ball for a quarter and leaving with some folded instructions, Jeremy found that it was a dragon’s egg which he was supposed to hatch. One day, to escape these problems, he runs down a side street and ducks into a magic shop which he had never noticed before. The story is about a 12 year old boy, Jeremy Thatcher, who has problems at school with his art teacher, a girl who likes him but he doesn’t like, and some bullies who like to tease him unmercifully.
